DISCOVERYOPT ED-AR 1-8X24SFIR FFP-MRAD (Classic Crosshair Reticle) LPVO Diameter:34MM Optics Scope

Very good optic, clear image, but has a few lackings that were better on the 1-6 model.
I made a full review on Simons Bench

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Very satisfied with Discovery Optics. I recently purchased the ED-AR 1-8X24SFIR FFP Circle Dot Grid, and the build quality, glass clarity and reticle are excellent for the price.

Customer service was also very responsive and helpful.

The lens and sight picture are clear, magnification is right, the knobs and finish feel great. However I used a leupold steel 34mm mounting ring and tightened it to 20in/lbs and the parallax adjusment was stuck. I had to loosen the ring all the way down to 15 in/lbs. Since this sight is long I can play with the ring position and tighten it to roughly 15 in/lbs and only the upper end of the parallax is not functional. As a note, even if the knobs turn the parallax might still not be adjusted. I noticed the same with the HD 2-12X24SFIR FFP-MIL but much more pronounced since that is a smaller scope so I could only tighten the front ring to 9 in/lbs. With some double sided glue and the rear ring tightened to almost 20 in/lbs I hope it will keep in place with a PCC. I also hope, that I did not hurt the internal mechanics with the initial tightness. Maybe the DISCOVERYOPT rings are the only compatible ones with these scopes since they are also aluminium so might deform sooner or with the scope but I'm not sure.

16 inch barrel, 1:8 thread, cheap 55 grain PMC ammunition, 200 meters, discovery optics scope, four stars for this because it is not a typical running scope, it is quite heavy and large

Super.

Exceptional value for the price. I expect it will outperform me.

ok

Solid optic. Exceptional value. Dummy proof rings. Adjustable parallax from 0-infinity is excellent. If anything it appears to be overbuilt. Using on a rimfire rifle. Only obvious con I’ve noticed is the illumination is very weak. Not visible in anything besides low light.

Matériel dextrement correcte , bonne clarté ,livré avec protection anti réfléchissement ,part soleil, Vraiment bien.je recommande

Been using this optic for 1.5 yeas on a 223 platform and never let me down. One, if not the only, with variable parallax setting in this price range.
Sturdy construction, doesn't fear rough use.
Definitely my best advice for an all-around optic

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2026:
I've recently tested this optic in both IPSC and practical shooting competition with no issues despite hitting gravel, wood and a lot of humidity. EXCELLENT

Very nice looks great on the 30 06 lever action
