Budget-friendly optics scope with clear glass and illuminated reticle. Customers said it's "perfect for air rifles" with "very clear optics." However, some noted short eye relief, clarity issues beyond 75 yards, and overly bright illumination. Good value under $100 for rimfire and airguns, though mixed opinions on glass quality and durability for larger calibers.

Confusing. Air rifle scope pretending to be firearm scope?

This seems to be an okay value scope. I believe this scope is deliberately creating consumer confusion. This 4-16 scope mostly appears to be an air rifle scope, but then the scope's name, marketing, and product page are implying and insinuating that this scope can be used on normal firearms. It's very unclear and so I do not recommend that you buy this scope.I'm just going to paste some quotes from the Amazon product page:"Upgraded Shockproof: DISCOVERYOPT MS series stands for Magnum Shockproof, the MS 4-16x42 rifle scope is specially upgraded for high shock resistance. It can be perfectly suitable for large-caliber and high-recoil rifles such as spring-piston air rifles. Always maintain its zero and performance after thousands of shots.""MS Series Stands for Magnum Shockproof""Rated for break barreled air rifles and shockproof up to .50BMG"So the scope is "perfectly suitable for large-caliber and high-recoil rifles such as spring-piston air rifles" and it's "Rated for break barreled air rifles" but then it says "shockproof up to .50BMG" so which one is it? All of the STRONG language about what this scope is rated for, references air rifles. But then this strange term "shockproof" goes up to .50BMG which is an insanely large caliber. What does "shockproof" mean? That the scope can be mounted to a 50BMG and retain zero? Or does "shockproof" mean something else?I believe that this product is deliberately creating consumer confusion by not clearly communicating what this scope can be used for. I believe that customers will buy this scope believing that they can mount this on real firearms. If the customer encounters an issue with this scope, I believe that this manufacturer could try to argue that "this is listed an air rifle scope" because most of the language, and the presence of a pellet holder, indicates that this is an air rifle scope. Why would someone buy a scope with a pellet holder on it and mount it to a 50BMG rifle? With all of that being said, I mounted it to a 22LR rifle which is the closest thing I have to an air rifle. I have not fired with the scope mounted yet but I got a chance to bore-sight it with a laser bore sighter. The glass in the scope seems somewhat low quality. As you can see in the photo, there is some blurring around the edges, and the black color of the paper targets appears blue. I couldn't get a nice satisfying comfortable picture in my eye while I was at the range. The sharpness in real life is better than shown my phone picture. The numbers on the target are pretty sharp, and the reticle lines also appear sharper in real life. The scope illumination is very low quality. Even the lowest brightness level is very bright, and the illumination is not clean, all the way around the edge of the sight picture is bright and lit up, and distracting when the illumination turns on.If this scope were clearly advertised as an air rifle scope, and the hints of this being a real rifle scope were removed, then I would give this product more stars. If this scope is a real rifle scope, then the description needs to be updated to articulate that the scope can be mounted and shot on real rifles (list many calibers so people can feel confident that different guns are tested and guaranteed to work) and expected to hold zero. Just plainly say in your product page which calibers your scope is rated for.If this scope ever decides what it is and is advertised clearly, maybe I will update the review. In the mean time, if you are looking for a real rifle scope, I would recommend just going with Vortex.

Not bad at all

Pretty solid so far, I’m happy with it. I’ll update if anything changes, but it’s looking good at the moment.

Air or firearm!

First, this is a sub$100 scope. So it's not going to be like a $500+ dollar scope. Not as sharp of a view. Not as crisp or repeatable on the settings. Second focal plane, not first. It's also a 44mm not a 50mm + objective. But, to say an airgun scope can't hold up to firearm recoil! Springer airguns have far worse recoil, and a reverse recoil that can destroy even some of the most expensive scopes for firearms. I think the only draw back to this scope on a firearm is the short eye relief. Just remember this if you are ordering this scope for a 308 or 30-06. On a 5.56 or 243 it can still be a great scope, and of course for rim fires. The short eye relief may be a problem on airguns 45 cal and up too. For a smaller, sfp, scope it's a great value.

Disapointed

I've got 2 of the HT 44mm scopes from discovery that I love so I thought I would try this new air rifle scope .My scope did not have a very clear or bright image. The eye relief was close and disappointing. The price of the scope is considerably less than the 100 to $120 range I paid for my two other Discovery scopes. I was hoping for more. It's probably worth the $60 but no more.

Very clear optics and easy to set up

this is a nice scope with very clear view and is easy to dial in . it seems just a little heavy maybe that is a good thing from a durability point of view .

It’s good but some quality control issues

For what it is, it’s good. It will work for air guns and rim fire cartridges but I wouldn’t trust it for anything beyond that. Out of the box, quality looks nice. Finish is well done, turrets are nice with positive clicks, glass is clear. Eye relief box is a little unforgiving. You do need to be pretty close to get a proper view through the scope. The turrets are resettable to zero, just unscrew the locking cap and bit and you can move the zero. My turrets were off center, with the zero mark being a half notch off center. This can be correct your self but is very annoying.Overall it’s ok. May be better off getting a known quality brand but if you’re on a budget or just using it for range fun it’ll work just fine. Just know its limitations.
